British Napoleonic Foot Artillery

Finished my first unit of artillery. The 3 nine pounder guns and crew are from the Victrix box set with the addition of a couple of mounted Perry artillery captains.
I enjoyed the change of painting blue rather than red! A few more units of Infantry are planned next and maybe another unit of cavalry.
Comments and criticisms are most welcome as always....

  1. Very nice! I especially love the basing.

It's a personal preference, but I always like to paint the gun bore.

  2. Thanks johnny.. Kind words indeed.
I actually forgot about the gun barrel before I took the pictures... I totally agree with you and as we speak I'm drilling the bores out with a pin vice an painting them black!

  3. I tend to blacken the end of the barrels as if they have been firing as an extra.

  4. I've done that now as well now Andrew used Tamiya weathering powder just like I use on my tank barrels...was just in too much of a rush to get some pictures up!
